chole bhature

I am on a GROCERY FINISHING spree.....I have checked all my kitchen boxes and made a list of things i have to make.....chole was on my TO MAKE list....There are 2-3 ways in which i make chole.....I decided to make the easier version which is equally tasty ......And chole cannot be complete without bhature ,so here comes the recipe.....

For chole

Ingredients

chole-3 cups(boiled with salt)
onion-3(chopped)
ginger garlic paste-2 tsp
tomatoes-3(chopped)
coriander powder-3 tsp
turmeric powder-1 tsp
red chili owder-1 tsp
kitchen king-1 tsp
garam masala-1 tsp
chole masala-3 tsp
zeera powder-1 tsp
oil-3 tbsp
coriander to garnish

method of preparation

take oil in a pan
add onion
fry till golden brown
add ginger garlic paste
fry for 3-4 mins
add all the dry masalas
fry again till oil comes out
add tomatoes
fry for 3-4 mins
add chole and 1 cup water
cook for 10 mins
garnish with fresh coriander


For bhature

ingredients

maida-2 cups
baking soda-a pinch
baking powder-1\2 tsp
sugar-1 tsp
salt-1\2 tsp
curd-1 cup
oil-2 tsp and for frying

method of preparation

sift maida, salt ,baking powder and baking soda
add sugar in curds
knead maida with curds
apply oil on maida
keep aside for one hour
make small balls of maida
dust and roll like roti
deep fry from both the sides

summer camp-day 3 and 4

I had a new experience doing this workshop....Met a lot of new people and kids....did a lot of homework....and most of all, heard appraises about my work....instead of 3 days the workshop was extended to 4 days.........

summer camp-day 2

Another fun filled day for bhavye and me....we made toilet roll crocodiles and paper plate bumble bees...
Its a hot day today so bhavye went swimming with his friends....he is doing a lot of coloring off late...I'll put the pictures in my upcoming blogs....

I have enrolled myself for a summer art and craft workshop....as a instructor off course.....I have taken one last month and this was the second one....there were 12 kids to deal with and we had nice fun....bhavye also came along....Its a three days work shop ...2 hours a day....Today we made salt dough napkin ring and the pencil top i made for bhavye the other day....kids loved the craft and were excited to take the pencils with top to their new classes.....

chicken tikka masala

It was a nice Sunday with clouds hovering all over .....we had planned to make chicken ...I had a very old recipe passed down to me by my mom for chicken tikka masala which i have never tried...So thought to give it a try....It came out amazing....The process is long but worth 

Ingredients

For the marinade

Chicken-300gm
Curds-2 tbsp
Juice of half lemon
Salt
Ginger paste-1\2 tsp
Garlic paste-1\2 tsp
Garam masala-1\2 tsp
Cumin powder-1\2 tsp
Red chilli powder-1 tsp
Oil-1 tsp

For the gravy

Onion-2 (chopped)
Ginger garlic paste-1 tsp
Green chili-1
Tomato puree-4 tbsp
Clove-3-4
Black pepper-3-4
Oil-3 tbsp
Kashmiri chili powder-1 tsp
Turmeric powder-1\4 tsp
Coriander powder-2 tsp
Salt
Juice of half lemon
Kitchen king-1 tsp
Butter-2 tsp
Cream-1 tbsp


Method of preparation

Put all the ingredients of marinade in a bowl
Mix nicely
Cover and keep in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours
Grill in a oven for 20-25 min
Keep on basting regularly
 
 
For the gravy

Take oil in a pan
Add cloves and black pepper
Add onions and fry till golden brown
Add ginger garlic paste and green chili
Fry for 2 mins
Add the dry masalas and fry for 2 mins
Add tomato puree and lemon juice and fry for 4-5 mins
Cool
Blend in a blender to a smooth paste
Add butter in the karahi
Add the paste
Add the grilled chicken and cook for 5-6 mins
Add cream
Serve hot with naan

virgin pina colada


 Summers are here in full swing....mornings are really hot with temperature going as high as 37-38 degrees....so planned to make something which is really cool and relaxing....After much googling I decided to make a virgin pina colada....it came out very nice....I made pineapple juice and coconut milk at home....to make coconut milk just blend fresh coconut with some water in a blender and then strain it....


Ingredients


Pineapple juice-1 cup

Coconut milk-1\2 cup
Vanilla icecream-1 cup
Vanilla essence-2 drops
Sugar-2 tsp

Method of preparation

Blend all the ingredients in a blender

Serve chilled

pencil top








Bhavye’s vacation is on .It is really difficult to keep these tiny tots engaged for the whole day....Craft is one thing he enjoys a lot and summers are the best time to do a lot of it….so I am all set for a crafty vacation….We started with an easy to do craft…..a pencil top   Bhavye was happy with the result and he want to study now.
